We will work with you to design outdoor living spaces that are beautiful, functional, abundant with pollinators and are a comfortable extension of your home or commercial space. We create gardens that are waterwise, firewise, and provide habitat for native insects, birds and other wildlife. We build healthy soil to encourage plant health, drought resistance, and to enhance soil’s important function as a carbon sink.
Installation...
Our installation crew is conscientious, hardworking and capable. We build fences, stairs, pathways, flagstone and paver patios, install irrigation systems, rain gardens, rain barrels and low-voltage lighting. While we do offer design services, we are also available to install landscapes that are designed by outside sources.
Maintenance...
We provide caring and detailed landscape maintenance on a weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or seasonal basis. We are also available to do a ‘one time cleanup’ in preparation for outdoor events or for the sale of a house. We are not a mow-&-blow company. We prune ornamental, native, and fruiting plants for plant health, form, and fruit production when appropriate. With a focus on building healthy soils and creating thriving plant communities, we create and maintain beautiful, healthy, and natural landscapes without using toxic chemicals or synthetic fertilizers.
Ecological Services
At Ahimsa Gardens we are committed to ecologically appropriate and sustainable gardening. We offer many ecological landscape services for our clients. These include solutions such as diverting greywater from household use into irrigation for the yard, rainwater collection and storage for irrigation use during the dry summer months, raingarden installation to slow and sink storm water to replenish the local aquifer rather than piping it away to the storm drains. We perform creekside restoration on a residential scale, aiding in salmon and beaver habitat restoration. We establish pollinator gardens and encourage clients to garden with native plants when possible to support native bird and insect populations, creating wildlife corridors for native species to thrive.
